This year Anna Pedzinska will be LSC’s DoS. She is young but very experienced and has lots of ideas to make the camp fun but also a place to learn at the same time.
She feels a Summer Camp should be project based, children will be working on their speaking skills mainly, which include vocabulary. There will be some grammar, but the objective will be to focus on communication. Integrated skills will be considered.
Every week will be finalized with a project which will be presented to all students in a final show. It will also be manual, so they will create outfits and masks, etc. As each camp week has a theme (Olympics,Music, Travel), not only will the activities and excursions have to do with the theme, but also the classes and the weekly project will evolve around it. This way all the vocabulary they learn will really consolidate!
Something new this year is pre-testing! We feel that pre-testing is very important so every child will be asked to do so before joining the camp. Once they are with us, a second oral exam will be done to confirm the level. We have created two different tests, divided into young learners and general English so that we can assure that they are tested the right way.
We feel that parents should be looked after as well, that’s why every child will get teacher’s feedback at the end of the course to know the progress their children made.
